The Visiting Fellows programme aims to enable academics and other human rights professionals to carry out housing rights research and to work with COHRE for short periods or during sabbatical breaks. Visiting Fellows may focus on a broad range of issues, including international housing rights law, using the UN to strengthen human rights, security of tenure and many others.

COHRE regularly offers 1-3 month unpaid internships at each of its offices for undergraduate, graduate and law students from any country. Due to the high volume of requests, entry to the programme is competitive. All of COHRE's offices and programmes welcome the involvement of volunteers.
