Second joint letter to the President of the Council of the European Union
On 4 October 2007, COHRE, along with Christian Aid, Front Line, Global Witness, the Interchurch Organization for Development Cooperation, and the Netherlands Institute for Southern Africa, released a second open letter to the presidency of the Council of Ministers of the European Union concerning the accusations that were made by the Angolan government officials against human rights defenders in Angola. In response to the reply received to the letter of 31 July, this letter calls for further action on the part of the European Union.

COHRE Statement at the First World Conference Against Racism Review Session 27 August 2007
COHRE today intervened at the first meeting of the Preparatory Committee of the Durban Review Conference, to set out its vision of the objectives of the processes to follow-up the 2001 World Conference Against Racism. In its statement, COHRE highlighted the need for statistical data to document housing rights abuses arising in the context of racism and racial discrimination. It also focussed on the need for the Durban Review Conference to address issues facing all victims of racism. The Durban Review Conference is scheduled to take place in 2009. Joint letter to the President of the Council of the European Union
On 31 July 2007, COHRE, along with Amnesty International, Christian Aid, Front Line, Global Witness, the Interchurch Organization for Development Cooperation, the Netherlands Institute for Southern Africa, and Oxfam Novib released an open letter to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of the European Union to express concerns about recent accusations Angolan government officials have made against human rights defenders in Angola. The letter calls for a firm European Union response to these accusations, in conformity with the European Union Guidelines on Human Rights Defenders.

Brazilian Platform on the Prevention of Evictions
The Brazilian Platform on the Prevention of Evictions was an outcome of a national seminar carried out by COHRE and a range of local NGOs and social movements in 2006. It tackles the causes and consequences of evictions and provides for a list of recommendations to be adopted by the national and local Governments.
