Litigation Programme
Supporting and promoting litigation

To better achieve our mission, and to ensure that victims of housing rights violations can hold perpetrators accountable for such violations, COHRE’s ESC Rights Litigation Programme works to:

1.      Legally enforce economic, social and cultural rights including the right to adequate housing and the right to water and sanitation.

2.     Achieve remedies for victims of violations of economic, social and cultural rights.

3.     Empower and support grassroots communities to claim and enforce their economic, social and cultural rights.

4.  Build the capacity of judges, lawyers and other advocates to understand how to legally enforce economic, social and cultural rights.
