Donors
COHRE receives funding from a wide range of sources, including governments, philanthropic trusts and foundations, UN agencies and individuals from around the world.
Without the financial assistance provided by these donors, COHRE's work, including it's international campaigns for housing rights, would not be possible and the organisation itself could not exist. COHRE is profoundly grateful to all those institutions and individuals who have contributed to our efforts in recent years.
As an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit human rights agency, COHRE neither seeks nor accepts any funding or other support which would require us to adopt or reflect a particular political philosophy, or which would in any way impact on our independence.
COHRE goes to great lengths to ensure that our limited funds are spent in the most cost- effective manner possible.
COHRE's major donors in 2009/2010 include:
- Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA)
- Catholic Organization for Relief and Development Aid (CORDAID)
- Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- Open Society Institute (OSI)
- MISEREOR
- Ford Foundation
- German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)
- Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation (ACCD)
- European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR)
- Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA)
- Association for Rural Development, Inc (ARD)
- McKnight Foundation
COHRE's financial accounts are examined to recognised international standards by the firm of Refidar Moore Stephens AG, in Geneva, Switzerland.
